*Bah. Botched the thread title. Apologies.*

Okay all,

My Hunter game progresses. My players cell has tackled warlocks, werewolves, abyssal horrors, and nine-foot tall cockroach monsters.

It’s time to move them to the next "monster of the week," the last before they leave the cell/compact level for the conspiracy level.

I already know who and what it is. I’ve been laying seeds for months now, and they have my players squirming. I need help though on generating some situations that will drive my players up the wall, and make this ‘human’ opponent one of the most terrifying they’ve ever faced.

Let me lay out the setting (I apologize for the wall of text);

The antagonist is one Alvarro Cortez, forty-something son of two mexican immigrants. Alvarro is also a Slasher. His modus operandi is the kidnapping of teenagers, then cooking them alive and ritualistic cannibalism. He believes that he is "saving" them from a truly evil world, and that by taking them into himself, they will live forever. Captured by VASCU two years ago, he’s been serving time in a penitentiary in northern california. Media dubbed him the "Frisco Fry Cook" for his MO and location.

Due to other circumstances, he is free, and making his way down south towards L.A. where the PC’s live. They’re aware of this, and the trail of fresh victims he’s left in his wake.

Now, the theme I want to go with is "contagious madness." In fact, I want the players to ultimately think that not only is Alvarro not normal, but that he’s a carrier for a contagious memetic virus. But aside from that, I want Alvarro to be DANGEROUS. I want him to be a scary, scary person.

The other theme i’m going with is "fast food as horror." There are two fast food restaurants in the charachter’s neighborhood, both made up franchises in my World of Darkness;

- BurgerMeistro, a popular longtime burger chain that’s hit hard times. Think of any "A&W" restaurant in your area… but with a mascot just as terrifying as the "Burger King."

- Itza Chicken!, a newcomer franchise owned by a japanese conglomerate. Serves a lot of tex-mex food, with some weirdly racist overtones. Very popular lately… so popular that my PC’s are convinced something strange is up with the place.

Now. People start disappearing, and bits of charred teeth and bones begin appearing around the Itza Chicken! The players are going to be suspicious, and are inevitably going to think that the cult of cannibals kidnapping people in the area work at Itza Chicken! But of course, they aren’t. They’re just dumping the remains of their "Rituals" at the new franchise chain to throw off any clues.

Also involved, and one of the crazy disciples of Alvarro, is the psycho ex-girlfriend of one of the players, whom he decided to shack up with temporarily when he needed a bolthole from the police. It’s worth mentioning that when she became too much trouble… he left his stash of narcotics in her apartment and called the cops on her.

Now, mechanically, I think Alvarro would best be served as a Maniac, with ranks of Followers. But beyond that I don’t know.
