Multitouch application support

Is it just me, or is application support for multitouch a bit on the scarse side? In fact, the only applications that I’ve noticed it work in are the browser and the photo viewer.

Is there an upcoming update expected for google maps? It’s a shame the APIs for zooming didn’t allow more seemless migration to multitouch.
